Barcode World Barcode World is a video game developed by Epoch and published by Sunsoft. It was released only in Japan on December 18, 1992 for the Famicom.

This role-playing game is intented to be played with an additional peripheral, the Barcode Battler II. This device can read barcode from usual shopping items and transforms them into virtual rpg-styles characters. The device is actually an electronic game that let to two players scan barcodes to create their own characters before entering in a versus fighting match.

Basically, this videogame let you plug your Barcode Battler II to the famicom so the fighting match is no longer ran by the electronic device, but by the famicom, which offers way better sounds and image, alongside with a more friendly interface.
