Xoldiers is a shooting game where, leading a team of nine "xoldiers", the player's goal on each level is to get past the enemy defenses--cannons and tanks that shoot occasionally, garages that release instantly-killing trucks, and barracks that spit out endless waves of enemy infantry--and destroy all the enemy bases.

The xoldiers, controlled with arrow keys, all walk simultaneously. They are all armed with machine guns, have a limited supply of grenades, and can lie down on command, becoming immune to some attacks but immobile and unable to attack. A xoldier dies when hit by any enemy attack, though the thinning down of the squad may allow the player to walk into narrow passages. The xoldiers can only shoot and toss grenades to the right, which often makes for a tactical problem.

The player receives score for destroying enemies, especially in quick succession. The game includes an online high score table and a level editor. [source:mobygames]
