You are the Imperial architect. Caesar has need of your services for the Empire. Build houses, temples, markets, baths, etc. to keep the people happy and the taxes flowing. Totus laus Caesar! (That's "All praise Caesar!" to you non-Romans.)

Romopolis is a managerial game. You, as the Imperial architect, must complete certain tasks like building houses, upgrading these houses, building and upgrading temples and markets and building baths. If you lack the knowledge to build a certain item, you must purchase the blueprints then train the workers in the new item. If you run short of wood or stone, you can purchase it. On each campaign, you will need to meet certain goals like getting the happiness level to a certain point, getting the income or commerce level or population to a goal or building a certain number of houses.
