Day Watch is the sequel to Night Watch and it is named after the Russian film of the same name by director Timur Bekmambetov. Day Watch is a turn-based tactics game with RPG elements.

The story of this game is a direct continuation from the previous game. This time the main character Anna has to unravel a mystery about a family of a "Dark One" that has been kidnapped.

The player can let Anna and her teammates roam about each level in real time, but once they enter combat the game turns to turn based. Each character has a number of action points which can be used each turn. Possible actions include walking, healing, attacking, healing a teammate, etc. Each teammate has a number of magical powers and when they gain more experience they gain more powerful spells.

Characters can also travel to the gloom, a shadow world that is invisible for mere mortals. In this world their attacks are more powerful and the characters cannot be seen by mortal people. [source:mobygames]
