Bullet Candy Bullet Candy is a top down arena shooter. The player takes control of a space ship and has to defeat all the enemies in each of the game's single screen levels. The player can move around and shoot in any direction with the use of either a gamepad or a mouse and keyboard combination. The objective is simply to clear all the level of all enemies and move on to the next. In addition of the enemies the levels are also full of collectable gold ships. These are each worth 100 points multiplied with the player's score multiplier, difficulty level and the number of ships collected.

By collecting more than half of the golden ships of a level, the player earns a laser shot power up that grants the player more powerful bullets. The player can also find bonuses in four colors. Yellow gives a score bonus, blue gives three way shots, red gives an extra life and green makes the player invincibility. The game also features a suicide button that kills the player. Although it cost the player two lives rather than one, it allows him to keep his power ups and score multiplier.

When starting out only the arcade mode is available but more modes are unlocked as the player gets further in the game. The arcade mode consists of 50 levels and after completion of the first 20 the extend mode featuring 150 levels is unlocked. [source:mobygames]
