German Truck Simulator German Truck Simulator is the successor of Euro Truck Simulator and is, like the name suggests, set in Germany. The player takes the role of a truck driver who has to drive goods all over Germany. The highway network is loosely based on the real one but the 18 cities are not faithfully recreated and consist of a few streets and buildings.

In the beginning the game the player chooses between one of three companies which assign randomly generated tasks to him which consist of driving one of 60 goods to another destinations. He receives a percentage of the income but he has to pay for delays, fines damaged goods. On the other hand the company pays all other costs like fuel or maintenance. Important other tasks are refueling, sticking to the traffic laws (offences result in a fine) and breaks (driving to many hours in a row results in microsleep).

The reputation increases with every successful assignment and influences the difficulty level and lucrativeness of the following. With the earned money the player eventually can buy his own truck (there are overall 18) which can be upgraded, e.g. with a better engine. Then he also can choose his next assignment from a list.

If the player earned a lot of money and a good reputation he can change his employee or even found his own forwarding agency. Then the game introduces several managerial aspects: he can hire up to six independently working AI truckers per city and has to pay for all expenses himself. But the focus of the game is still the driving itself. [source:mobygames]
