Zoo Story Zoo Story is a simulation game that allows the player to build and manage a zoo. The gameplay is similar to TeamLava's other Story games. The one-screen zoo is viewed from an isometric perspective. The player begins from scratch, given a small amount of money and gems. Some animals can be purchased with money, while other require gems to be paid. Money is earned when visitors enter the zoo; however, the amount of gems must be increased by purchasing them with real money online. The player must buy food for the enemies, who need to be fed regularly. It is also possible to breed animals. The player can build various attractions in the zoo (e.g. a hot-dog stand), which also generate an income.

The game flows in real time, and the player often has to wait for a particular item to become available. Experience points are awarded for taking care of the animals and attracting visitors. As the zoo levels up, new types of animals and attractions become available.

Similarly to other Story installments, the game can only be played online. The player is able to view zoos constructed by other players and communicate with them. Players can send gifts to each other and rate each others' zoos, which also increases the experience gained by them. [source:mobygames]
