Love's Power Mahjong is, primarily, a mahjong game with puzzle and hidden object elements. There are three styles of mahjong play. In the standard style, use your mouse to click on the free identical tiles or tiles of the same element, like two flowers even if they are not the same flower. Another style requires that you click two free tiles to swap them so as to place the two tiles that are the same together. In each of these, you are trying to clear all the red tiles with yellow stars. The third style requires that you find and click the only two identical tiles for each level. As you clear upper levels, the lower levels are more populated so the search is harder.

There are tiles to help you. One tile reveals all possible matches for thirty seconds when you select a tile. One tile clears the selected tile from the puzzle. One tile will swap the position of any two tiles and one tile turns several tiles into the selected tile for easy matching. In between some levels, you have puzzles. Some require you to swap two pieces or slide a piece to complete a picture. Others require you to complete a hidden object screen. These puzzles can be skipped, if you just don't want to do them.
