Disc Saga: Iraisha wa Monster? Four youths from a small village have to prove that they can become real heroes. Summoned by the village mayor, they are entrusted with an important task: a horde of goblins have occupied the forest to the north of the village, so the youngsters have to dispose of them. Naturally, this mundane task is just the beginning of great adventures that await these young people...

Iraisha wa Monster? is the first part of the episodic Disc Saga, which covers the first part of the heroes' adventure (up to approximately level 10 in character growth). It is a traditional Japanese RPG, particularly influenced by early Final Fantasy games - a full party of four characters with sharply defined classes (fighter, magic user, etc.) right at the beginning of the game, top-down battles with "heroes to the right, enemies to the left" position, etc. Unlike most Japanese RPGs of the time, there are no random encounters: the enemies are visibly roaming the world, and sometimes can gang up on the party for a series of non-stop battles; it is possible to avoid battles by walking past or running away from enemies. The game has distinct humorous undertones in graphics and animation. [source:mobygames]
