This is a digital conversion of Fighting Fantasy gamebook #5, dating back to September 1983, and the last of Big Blue Bubble's planned FF conversions. In this game, the player makes choices informing the story development of a mercenary hired by the merchants of Silverton to overcome the dread skeletal necromancer Zanbar Bone in the nearby thieves' den of Port Blacksand -- an environs more treacherous than any individual villain, but home to the helpful sage Nicodemus.

In this conversion, the computer automatically tracks the player's inventory items and does the requisite number-crunching when challenges to the player's three Fighting Fantasy statistics -- SKILL, STAMINA, and LUCK -- arise. Randomization is achieved by actually shaking the mobile device and agitating its accelerometer rather than by rolling dice. Plot advancement and player input is driven by touching the screen to select one of various options offered, Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style. [source:mobygames]
