FIFA Manager 11 FIFA Manager 11 is a managerial simulation in which the player is responsible for the financial and athletic success of his team. As with all German soccer managers the focus lies on the financial side in which the player has influence on a lot of details, e.g. transfers, stadium or merchandising. But in this installment the work with the actual team was expanded: besides the usual options for line-up and training there are expanded tactical options available. It is now possible to set the tactical instructions for every player for different situation, especially offense, defense and standards. Various set-ups can be saved and switched during a match. The game also features a new playing mode in which the player only has to think about trainer work and transfers.

One of the totally new programmed parts is the transfer market. The changes mostly concern the AI: opposing teams use additional tactics, e.g. buying a player to weaken another team, and have long-time strategies. The other re-defined part are the player abilities: They now have a different competence ranking for every position and a new morale system. This means the morale starts on neutral instead of the maximum and is calculated from more variables.

Other smaller changes are, along with others, a separate World Cup mode, new status reports with additional information and negotiations with youth players. Also expanded was the in FIFA Manager 10 introduced online mode which now features a drafting system, action cards and sponsor missions (beating challenges for more budget).

The game basically features two match presentations with a few variations: text mode and live calculation. In the text mode the game describes the most important happenings in writing. In the 3D calculated matches the player can reach all tactical options during the match without needing to use a separate menu. The matches can also be watched as "live ticker" which is similar to teletext, in the "highlight mode" which is basically a faster 3D calculated match or be skipped altogether. [source:mobygames]
