DropTeam: Mechanized Combat in the Far Future DropTeam: Mechanized Combat in the Far Future is a multiplayer-focused action game set in the future. Every player takes control of a tank and participates in a civil war in the Rim galaxy. The tanks are simple to control with a keyboard/mouse-combination but in other aspects, e.g. damage and weapon range, the game tries to be as realistic as possible.

The game features several different maps and mission goals but the basic principle is that a match has a fixed time frame, typically between 30 and 60 minutes, where the players battle each other and solve tasks like capturing the enemy flag or conquering a point on the map. Every successful action rewards points and in the end the team with the most points win. When a player dies he can set his respawn point. One player per team can play as commander and gives orders on the tactical map. The Ogre playing mode is a bit different because there one team consists of just one player who controls a giant tank.

The maps and objectives offer several different tactical approaches. One aspect of this are the various different tank models which can be chosen, For single players there are the possibilities to play single matches against bots in 20 scenarios and a campaign with ten missions in a linear order. The core gameplay doesn't change for these missions. [source:mobygames]
