DownTown, in short, is SimCity meets The Settlers meets Half-Life. It is played in a 3D world, where you do not fly over with a simple camera, but you are actually walking amongst it in first-person. There are four types of buildings: house, factory, shop, and silo. Houses provide shelter for your walkers (citizens) and when an order to build one is made, two walkers will appear in your town center. Factories are places where walkers can work and earn you money. Silos are where food, water, and materials are stored. Shops are where walkers go to get food and water. Buildings can be enlarged to lower maintenance costs The objective is to make your opponents go bankrupt. You can do it the peaceful way by raising lots of money then buying all their houses and factories, or pull out one of five weapons and destroy their houses and kill their walkers. Guns are also useful against the wasps who sometimes attack you and your walkers. Or maybe you just want to build the biggest city of them all. [source:mobygames]
