Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo The plot is a short one: Richter Belmont's fiancee (along with other women) was kidnapped by Dracula and so he goes on a journey to rescue her and destroy Dracula. The game tells its story only in cutscenes.

The game itself consist of Belmont trying to reach the end of each floor, defeating evil creatures on the way with your whip and sub-weapons. In comparison with the previous entry in the series, Super Castlevania IV, it lacks the eight-directional whipping. As with most Castlevania games the levels consist of platforming challenges which require good timing and reactions. At the end of each stage he will face a powerful boss.

The kidnapped women are hidden in the castle and to find them Belmont needs to uncover hidden exits which may lead to alternative levels and bosses. One of them even unlocks a second player character: Maria Renard. She is weaker than Belmont but has a greater agility. This includes a sliding and double jump move which allows her to find even more alternative paths. [source:mobygames]
