Pirate Princess In this semi-casual word game adventure you captain your very own pirate ship on a Caribbean voyage. Set in the days of piracy you take on the role of a young woman who runs away from home to search for her missing father and is forced into the life of a pirate. As you navigate around the map, battles with other pirates and the occasional merchant ship are triggered. These are fought by the player and the AI enemy captain racing to enter bigger and rarer words to power their ship's cannons.

There are similarities to Bookworm Adventures and Puzzle Quest, but Pirate Princess features real time combat instead of turn based and the opponent can actually be seen entering words. Special coins can be used to trigger game altering effects adding a strategic element to play as you both attempt to counter each other.

Unlike many casual games their is fairly in depth adventure wrapped around the core battles. As you meet new characters conversations pop up and the story unfolds. There are light weight RPG elements such as gaining experience in battle, levelling up the captain, upgrading the ship and gaining access to new special coins. [source:mobygames]
